The Kinsey Report

July 11 at 6:30 p.m., Monster Energy Stage

Donald Kinsey and his brothers grew up in Indiana, armed with a solid understanding of their parents’ roots in Mississippi. Their dad was the late Delta bluesman Lester ‘Big Daddy’ Kinsey, who introduced his boys to Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf. At 18, Donald quit the steel mill to go on the road with Albert King. The young Kinsey later got into reggae, bringing his rock chops to work with Bob Marley and Peter Tosh. Back home, he hooked up with his brothers, Ralph on drums and Ken on bass, to distill blues, rock, funk and reggae into the heavyweight Kinsey Report, with Andy Ogrodzinski on rhythm guitar.
