The Kinsey Report at Rosa’s Lounge tonight (Friday) and tomorrow (Saturday). Maybe you heard them on our annual XRT Blues Breakers Blues Fest Broadcast earlier this month. They tore the roof off Buddy Guy’s Legends that evening. Now see them do a full set this weekend at Chicago’s friendliest blues bar, Rosa’s, 3420 W. Armitage. This will truly be a world class blues event in a classic, neighborhood, Chicago blues bar. The Kinsey Report is made up of three guys who grew up in a blues family in NW Indiana. Sons of the great Big Daddy Kinsey, the Kinsey brothers are joined by Nic Byrd on second guitar and make up one of the best blues bands anywhere, anytime. With brothers Kenny on bass and Ralph on drums the rhythm couldn’t be tighter. Donald Kinsey, the lead vocalist and lead guitarist is a most accomplished blues star as well as having a history of playing reggae. He played for several years with Bob Marley as well as Peter Tosh. And Rosa’s is a clues club you owe it to yourself to check out if you’ve never been. A great looking little club that’s not on the tourist map.
